πŸ‰ How Books (and Dragons) Became My Escape—and My Healing

I didn’t expect books about dragons to help me heal…

…but here we are.

✨ It Started as an Escape

At first, reading was just a way to unwind.

A way to shut off my brain after long days.

A way to step into a different world for a little while.

But somewhere along the way…

It became something more.

πŸ“š Stories That Found Me at the Right Time

There’s something about getting lost in a story—

especially ones filled with magic, resilience, and characters who have to fight their way through everything.

They remind you of something.

Of strength.

Of becoming.

Of not giving up—even when everything feels impossible.

And without even realizing it…

I started seeing pieces of myself in those stories.

πŸ‰ The Dragon Era (Yes, It’s a Thing Now πŸ˜‚)

Then came the dragons.

And I was done for.

There’s just something about them—

powerful, misunderstood, a little wild… but also beautiful and resilient.

And suddenly it wasn’t just reading anymore.

It turned into:

  • saving way too many dragon things (no regrets 🫣)

  • 3D printing dragons and being completely obsessed

  • building this whole little world of magic inside my real life

🌿 Healing Doesn’t Always Look Like Work

This is the part I didn’t expect.

Healing didn’t just happen through routines or discipline.

It happened in quiet moments:

  • reading late at night with a cat curled up next to me 🐱

  • getting lost in a story that made me feel something again

  • allowing myself to enjoy things without guilt

Because sometimes…

Healing looks like rest.

Like joy.

Like remembering who you are outside of survival mode.

✝️ Finding Meaning in the Middle of It

Even in the fantasy, I found something deeper.

Themes of purpose.

Of identity.

Of becoming something more than what you’ve been through.

And it reminded me that my story isn’t finished yet either.

πŸ’› This Is Your Sign

If you’ve been feeling stuck…

If life has felt heavy…

Find something that brings you back to yourself.

It doesn’t have to look “productive.”

It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else.

It just has to bring you a little bit of light.

☀️ For Me, It Was Books + Dragons

And somehow…

That became part of my healing.

✨ A little messy. A little magical. Fully real.

What’s a book that changed something in you? πŸ“š

Sunday stealing  Who Are you? Part 7 – It is Over!  Part 7: Self Image 84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you:   I wake up at 6:00am, take a shower, get ready for the day, then I go downstairs and feed the critters, and make breakfast for hubby and I.  We usually leave the house by about 7:30ish and I drop my husband off at work.  Then I work (I'm a Pet Groomer) until about 3:30 or 4:00ish then I leave for home and go get my hubby from work.  Then I come home and make dinner, feed the critters, work on cleaning the house a little and we usually head to bed about 8:30ish or 9:00. 85. 🌿 CBD and Hormones: What Every Woman Should Know

Posted in The Wellness Den | June 14, 2025 Let’s be real: being a woman comes with a lot of hormonal ups and downs. Mood swings. Fatigue. Bloating. Brain fog. Anxiety. Sleep issues. And don’t even get me started on the perimenopause rollercoaster. But here’s something most women don’t hear enough: CBD can help. Not as a magic pill or miracle cure—but as a powerful tool that supports your body’s natural rhythms and helps bring balance when everything feels off. πŸ’› What Happens When Hormones Are Out of Whack?
