Fitness Isn’t Just About Weight Loss—Here’s What It’s Done for My Mind

When I first started working out, I had one goal: lose weight. Like so many of us, I thought fitness was all about the number on the scale. But something unexpected happened along the way. I started to notice changes that had nothing to do with my body—and everything to do with my mind.

This journey has shown me that fitness is about so much more than physical transformation. It’s a mental reset. A mood booster. A form of self-respect. And it has completely changed how I show up in my life.

It Quieted My Anxiety
Movement has become one of my most powerful tools for managing anxiety. Even on the hardest days, getting up and moving my body helps shift my mindset. Whether it's a full workout or a quick walk with the dogs, fitness has taught me how to release tension and ground myself.

It Taught Me Discipline (In a Good Way)
Committing to daily movement has helped me rebuild trust with myself. Showing up—even when I don’t feel like it—has created a sense of consistency that carries over into every part of my life. It's a reminder that I can do hard things.

It Boosted My Confidence
Watching myself get stronger, lift heavier, move with more ease—it’s been incredibly empowering. Fitness gave me back a sense of control at a time when I felt so disconnected from my body. Now I see myself as capable, resilient, and worthy.

It Gave Me an Outlet
Some days, my workouts are my therapy. When emotions feel heavy or life feels chaotic, movement helps me process what I'm feeling. It gives me a place to pour out my stress and come back to myself.

It Helped Me Reconnect With My Body
After dealing with hair loss, mental health struggles, and burnout, I felt so distant from myself. Fitness helped me rebuild that connection. I stopped working out to punish my body and started moving to support it. That mindset shift changed everything.

Final Thoughts
Yes, I’ve lost weight. Yes, I’m seeing progress. But the biggest transformation? It’s internal. My mindset is stronger. My heart is lighter. And I finally feel proud of the person I’m becoming—inside and out.

If you're on your own fitness journey, give yourself grace. Celebrate the non-scale victories. And know that every drop of sweat is helping you grow in ways far beyond what the mirror can show.

Who Are you?

Sunday stealing  Who Are you? Part 7 – It is Over!  Part 7: Self Image 84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you:   I wake up at 6:00am, take a shower, get ready for the day, then I go downstairs and feed the critters, and make breakfast for hubby and I.  We usually leave the house by about 7:30ish and I drop my husband off at work.  Then I work (I'm a Pet Groomer) until about 3:30 or 4:00ish then I leave for home and go get my hubby from work.  Then I come home and make dinner, feed the critters, work on cleaning the house a little and we usually head to bed about 8:30ish or 9:00. 85. 🌿 CBD and Hormones: What Every Woman Should Know

Posted in The Wellness Den | June 14, 2025 Let’s be real: being a woman comes with a lot of hormonal ups and downs. Mood swings. Fatigue. Bloating. Brain fog. Anxiety. Sleep issues. And don’t even get me started on the perimenopause rollercoaster. Whether you’re in your 20s or late 40s (like me!), hormones influence everything —your energy, mood, digestion, skin, cycle, and emotional balance. But here’s something most women don’t hear enough: CBD can help. Not as a magic pill or miracle cure—but as a powerful tool that supports your body’s natural rhythms and helps bring balance when everything feels off. 💛 What Happens When Hormones Are Out of Whack? When estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, or thyroid hormones get thrown off, you may feel: Anxious or irritable Wired but tired Struggling with sleep or concentration Sluggish digestion or metabolism Cravings, mood dips, and PMS from another planet Sound familiar?
