My Hair Recovery Journey: From Loss to Growth

Introduction
Losing my hair was one of the hardest experiences I’ve ever faced. It shook my confidence, left me in tears more than once, and made me question everything I was using on my body. After realizing Monat caused me to lose nearly 50% of my hair volume and density, I knew I had to make a change—and fast. I’ve spent months researching, rebuilding, and healing, and now I’m on a mission to regrow my hair and help others do the same. If you’re navigating hair loss, you are not alone—and recovery is possible. Here’s how I’m taking back my confidence, one strand at a time.

1. Targeted Supplements for Hair Growth
Hair health starts from within. I’ve added key supplements to support regrowth:

  • Collagen Peptides – Helps strengthen hair, improve elasticity, and boost scalp health. (Let me know if you want my favorite!)

  • Hair, Skin & Nails Vitamins – Packed with biotin, folic acid, and essential nutrients to nourish follicles and reduce shedding.

  • Saw Palmetto & Pumpkin Seed Oil – A natural way to help block DHT and promote new growth.

2. Kirkland Signature Minoxidil 5% Foam
Yes—it’s labeled for men. But my dermatologist assured me the 5% formula is more effective (and the 2% version is often just a marketing tactic). I use Kirkland Signature Minoxidil Foam 5% daily on my scalp to reactivate dormant hair follicles.

✨ A heads up: This is a lifelong commitment and can cause an initial “dread shed”—don’t panic, it’s normal. Do your research and stay consistent.

3. A Gentle Hair Care Routine
I completely overhauled my routine to focus on nourishment, not damage:

  • Daily Shampoo – Yes, daily! I rotate Head & Shoulders Tea Tree and Nizoral (Sundays + Wednesdays)

  • Regrowth Shampoos – I alternate between L’Oréal Everpure Bond Repair and PURA D’OR every other day.

  • Deep Conditioning + Protein Treatments – Weekly treatments using SheaMoisture help restore strength, moisture, and elasticity.

  • Silk Sleep Cap – Reduces friction and protects fragile strands while I sleep.

  • Hair Oiling – I use Batana oil or my VanillaSwirl blend before wash days and to scrunch out the crunch.

  • No tight hairstyles – No more buns or ponytails tugging on healing roots.

4. Scalp Health & Hydration
Healthy hair begins at the root—literally. I focus on scalp care every day:

  • Daily scalp massages to boost circulation

  • Hydration through water, water, and more water 💧

5. Patience & Consistency
This journey isn’t fast—but it is worth it. I started this recovery protocol on February 9, and though there have been tears, frustration, and moments of doubt, I’m finally seeing NEW growth. My dermatologist approves my routine, and I’m tracking every little win.

Who Are you?

Sunday stealing  Who Are you? Part 7 – It is Over!  Part 7: Self Image 84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you:   I wake up at 6:00am, take a shower, get ready for the day, then I go downstairs and feed the critters, and make breakfast for hubby and I.  We usually leave the house by about 7:30ish and I drop my husband off at work.  Then I work (I'm a Pet Groomer) until about 3:30 or 4:00ish then I leave for home and go get my hubby from work.  Then I come home and make dinner, feed the critters, work on cleaning the house a little and we usually head to bed about 8:30ish or 9:00. 85. 🌿 CBD and Hormones: What Every Woman Should Know

Posted in The Wellness Den | June 14, 2025 Let’s be real: being a woman comes with a lot of hormonal ups and downs. Mood swings. Fatigue. Bloating. Brain fog. Anxiety. Sleep issues. And don’t even get me started on the perimenopause rollercoaster. Whether you’re in your 20s or late 40s (like me!), hormones influence everything —your energy, mood, digestion, skin, cycle, and emotional balance. But here’s something most women don’t hear enough: CBD can help. Not as a magic pill or miracle cure—but as a powerful tool that supports your body’s natural rhythms and helps bring balance when everything feels off. 💛 What Happens When Hormones Are Out of Whack? When estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, or thyroid hormones get thrown off, you may feel: Anxious or irritable Wired but tired Struggling with sleep or concentration Sluggish digestion or metabolism Cravings, mood dips, and PMS from another planet Sound familiar? Now enter: your Endocannabino...
