The Power of Routine: How I Built My Morning to Support My Mindset

The Power of Routine: How I Built My Morning to Support My Mindset

For a long time, my mornings felt chaotic. I’d wake up already anxious, rushing to get ready, skipping breakfast, and feeling scattered before the day even began.

But over time—and a whole lot of trial and error—I realized that how I start my day changes everything about how I show up in my life.

So I made a shift. I created a morning routine that grounds me, calms me, and helps me feel in control before the chaos hits. And now, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for my mental health.

☀️ Why Morning Routines Matter

When you live with anxiety, OCD, or bipolar disorder like I do, structure can be a life raft. Mornings became my anchor—a place where I could gently take control and set the tone for a more centered, intentional day.

A routine doesn’t have to be complicated. Mine isn’t. But it’s consistent. And it’s mine.

🌿 My Morning Routine

Here’s what my current morning flow looks like:

 Wake Up Without Scrolling
Instead of reaching for my phone, I take 3 deep breaths and stretch. Just a moment to center myself before the digital noise.

 Hydration First
Big glass of water—before coffee, before anything. It wakes up my body and starts me off with a healthy win.

 Green Compass CBD Nano Jelly
This helps me feel calm and focused. I’ve noticed a big difference in how my mind feels on the days I take it vs. when I don’t.

 Movement
Some mornings it’s a full workout. Other days it’s 5 minutes of stretching. Either way, I move my body to shift my energy.

 Positive Input
I’ll listen to a podcast, a quick affirmation, or even just a favorite song while I get ready. It helps my mindset so much.

 Breakfast + Supplements
I keep it simple, but fueling myself well in the morning gives me energy and stability. I take my collagen, vitamins, and a few quiet bites of food.

 Plan the Day
I check my planner, glance at my to-do list, and mentally organize the flow of the day. Even 3 minutes of this keeps me from feeling overwhelmed.

❤️ Why This Works for Me

This routine isn’t perfect. And it doesn’t always go to plan (hello, mom life!)

But it’s flexible, gentle, and rooted in what makes me feel safe and strong.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or like mornings are setting you up for failure—try adding one grounding habit to your start. Then build from there.

You deserve a morning that supports you. Not one that drains you.

Who Are you?

Sunday stealing  Who Are you? Part 7 – It is Over!  Part 7: Self Image 84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you:   I wake up at 6:00am, take a shower, get ready for the day, then I go downstairs and feed the critters, and make breakfast for hubby and I.  We usually leave the house by about 7:30ish and I drop my husband off at work.  Then I work (I'm a Pet Groomer) until about 3:30 or 4:00ish then I leave for home and go get my hubby from work.  Then I come home and make dinner, feed the critters, work on cleaning the house a little and we usually head to bed about 8:30ish or 9:00. 85. 🌿 CBD and Hormones: What Every Woman Should Know

Posted in The Wellness Den | June 14, 2025 Let’s be real: being a woman comes with a lot of hormonal ups and downs. Mood swings. Fatigue. Bloating. Brain fog. Anxiety. Sleep issues. And don’t even get me started on the perimenopause rollercoaster. Whether you’re in your 20s or late 40s (like me!), hormones influence everything —your energy, mood, digestion, skin, cycle, and emotional balance. But here’s something most women don’t hear enough: CBD can help. Not as a magic pill or miracle cure—but as a powerful tool that supports your body’s natural rhythms and helps bring balance when everything feels off. 💛 What Happens When Hormones Are Out of Whack? When estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, or thyroid hormones get thrown off, you may feel: Anxious or irritable Wired but tired Struggling with sleep or concentration Sluggish digestion or metabolism Cravings, mood dips, and PMS from another planet Sound familiar?
