Why I Said Goodbye to Monat (and What I’m Using Instead)

It’s never easy to walk away from something you once believed in—especially when you’ve shared it with others.

But my story with Monat took a turn I never expected. And I feel a responsibility to speak openly—not from a place of blame, but from a place of truth.

Because if my experience helps even one woman avoid the heartbreak I went through, it’s worth sharing.

šŸ’‡‍♀️ When I Joined Monat, I Had Hope

Like so many others, I joined Monat looking for high-performing products to help me care for and grow my hair.

At first, things seemed okay. But over time… something changed.

I started noticing excessive shedding.

Breakage.

Thinning at the scalp.

Hair coming out in clumps in the shower.

And no matter how I tried to brush it off (literally and emotionally), it just kept getting worse.

🚩 The Warning Signs I Couldn’t Ignore

I lost nearly 50% of my hair’s density and volume. It wasn’t just a bad hair phase—it was a full-blown crisis.

I was devastated.

Embarrassed.

And honestly, confused.

I did my research. I saw others sharing similar stories. I even spoke to a dermatologist.

And that’s when I knew: I had to stop.

šŸ’” The Emotional Toll

Hair loss isn’t just physical. It affects your confidence, your identity, your self-worth.

It shook me deeply. I cried more days than I care to admit.

But I also realized… I could either stay stuck in shame and frustration, or I could take control of my healing.

🌱 What I’m Using Now (and Why I Trust It)

Since ditching Monat, I’ve built a new hair care routine focused on restoration, nourishment, and scalp health.

Here’s what’s made the biggest difference for me:

Collagen Peptides (Green Compass)

Supports regrowth from the inside out—boosting elasticity, strength, and overall scalp health.

Hair, Skin & Nails Vitamins

Packed with biotin, folic acid, and nutrients that actually support growth—not stress it further.

Minoxidil 5% Foam

A dermatologist-approved treatment that reactivates dormant follicles. It’s a commitment—but it’s helping.

Gentle Shampoo Rotation

I now rotate between purifying, strengthening, and regrowth-focused formulas (like tea tree, Everpure bond repair, and Nizoral).

Scalp Massage + Hair Oiling

Nightly rituals that stimulate circulation and support healthier strands.

Hydration + Sleep + Mindset

Because wellness is never just surface-level.

🌿 Why I’m Sharing This

This isn’t to shame anyone using Monat—or to judge those still promoting it.

It’s simply my truth.

And I believe we deserve to feel empowered, informed, and heard.

šŸ’¬ If You’re Struggling With Hair Loss…

Please know you’re not alone.

You are not crazy.

You are not “overreacting.”

And you absolutely deserve to feel like you again.

I’m still on my hair recovery journey—but I’m finally seeing growth, inside and out. šŸ’›

🌿 CBD and Hormones: What Every Woman Should Know

Posted in The Wellness Den | June 14, 2025 Let’s be real: being a woman comes with a lot of hormonal ups and downs. Mood swings. Fatigue. Bloating. Brain fog. Anxiety. Sleep issues. And don’t even get me started on the perimenopause rollercoaster. Whether you’re in your 20s or late 40s (like me!), hormones influence everything —your energy, mood, digestion, skin, cycle, and emotional balance. But here’s something most women don’t hear enough: CBD can help. Not as a magic pill or miracle cure—but as a powerful tool that supports your body’s natural rhythms and helps bring balance when everything feels off. šŸ’› What Happens When Hormones Are Out of Whack? When estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, or thyroid hormones get thrown off, you may feel: Anxious or irritable Wired but tired Struggling with sleep or concentration Sluggish digestion or metabolism Cravings, mood dips, and PMS from another planet Sound familiar?
