Rough Day

"Life is always balanced. For every breakdown, there’ll always be a breakthrough. You just have to keep the faith."

Today has been a rough day.  I had 8 grooms, 3 belong to some little old ladies, who every time I groom them they find something wrong with them.....when in fact there really isn't anything wrong they are just picky.  They want a 'straight' line defined yet blended...um okay....you can have one or the other....Then a client got upset because we wouldn't squeeze their dog in today.....I had 8 that is about my limit for quality grooms.  Then my boss had to leave early so he asked me to feed the bird....well that didn't go so well, she took a chunk out of my thumb (you know that REALLY sensitive area between thumb and first finger).  It was pretty deep, luckily my dad came down to check it to see if I needed stitches, he glued it.  But it's a pretty nasty bite, it hasn't stopped bleeding....not gushing or anything.  Then I was supposed to get paid and our cars are literally running on fumes.....and my boss was in a hurry to get out to the shop to help me so he forgot my check....again adding to my anxiety/stress levels for the day.  I have been quite emotional the past few days.  Thinking may need adjustments in some of my meds or something.

So what lessons did I learn today?
1-  The owner of the 3 dogs hasn't been completely happy with a groom in 30 years (learned that from the previous groomer), so let what they say go in one ear and out the other....as they won't ever be completely happy.
2- Failure to plan on their part does not constitute an emergency on my part (squeezing your dog in)....they should be used to it as when the shop was in it's prime they were always booked 3-4 weeks in advance 10-15 dogs per day.
3-  Kiwi can and WILL bite.....leave the feeding to a male figure as she prefers a male.  So if he doesn't feed her before she leaves the little bugger is just gonna have to go hungry....I don't like getting bit.
4-  Grus-fra-ba-  Which is something my hubby tells me....just let it go.  Things aren't always going to go 100% according to plan, just roll with the punches, let things go......remember the serenity prayer "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference."

I know things will get better.  I am grateful for my husband for being able to keep such a strong presence when I am falling apart.   He is my strength and he keeps me going.

Do you have a cool nickname? (If not, feel free to give yourself one right now.)   No cool nicknames, as a kid I was "Woodie or Fruitcake".....don't ask LOL 6) When was the last time you had the blues?   ...
