๐Ÿ’ช From Weight Loss to Strength: What My Body Is Teaching Me

Posted in The Wellness Den | May 21, 2025

Since January 21st, I’ve lost 41 pounds—and yes, I’m proud of that.

But what I’m even more proud of?

The strength I’ve found within that journey.

For years, I thought weight loss would feel like hitting a goal. A number. A finish line.

But now, I see that healing my relationship with my body isn’t about shrinking—it’s about listening.

It’s about letting go of shame and stepping into strength.

๐ŸŒฟ What I Thought This Journey Would Be:

✅ Eat better

✅ Move more

✅ Lose the weight

✅ Feel amazing

And while yes, I do feel more energized, lighter, and more confident in my skin—this journey is teaching me that it’s so much deeper than that.

๐Ÿ’› What This Journey is

Actually

 Teaching Me:

✨ 1. My Body Isn’t My Enemy

I used to feel like I had to “fight” my body into changing.

Now? I’m working with it—nourishing it, resting it, celebrating it.

This shift in mindset changed everything.

✨ 2. Progress Isn’t Just on the Scale

Yes, the numbers are moving—but so are other things:

  • My energy is more consistent

  • My sleep is deeper

  • My moods are lighter

  • My cravings are quieter

  • My confidence is realer

✨ 3. Strength Feels Better Than Skinny

I love feeling strong.

Not just physically—but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Lifting, walking, stretching, even breathing with intention—all of it builds a strength I never had in my 20s or 30s.

This body has carried me through stress, trauma, motherhood, and healing.

Now it’s carrying me into a new chapter—and I’m finally giving it the love it deserves.

✨ 4. The Scale Doesn’t Measure Self-Worth

I don’t obsess over numbers anymore. I track progress, yes—but I don’t tie my worth to it.

Because healing is about more than what you see in the mirror.

It’s about how you feel when you move. When you rest. When you show up for yourself.

✨ 5. Consistency > Perfection

I’m not perfect. I still have off days.

But I don’t let them derail me anymore.

I show up. I recommit. I keep going.

Because the real win? Is never giving up on myself again.

๐Ÿ’ฌ To the Woman in the Middle of Her Journey:

You don’t have to be at your “goal weight” to be proud.

You don’t have to wait until you’re “done” to celebrate.

Every step forward counts.

Every small habit matters.

Every choice rooted in love is a victory.

I’m still going. I know I’ll be down more by the time you read this.

But even if I wasn’t, I’d still be proud—because my body is no longer something I’m trying to change.

It’s something I’m finally choosing to trust.

Describe the routine of a normal day for you:   I wake up at 6:00am, take a shower, get ready for the day, then I go downstairs and feed the critters, and make breakfast for hubby and I.  We usually leave the house by about 7:30ish and I drop my husband off at work.  Then I work (I'm a Pet Groomer) until about 3:30 or 4:00ish then I leave for home and go get my hubby from work.  Then I come home and make dinner, feed the critters, work on cleaning the house a little and we usually head to bed about 8:30ish or 9:00. 85. ๐ŸŒฟ CBD and Hormones: What Every Woman Should Know

Posted in The Wellness Den | June 14, 2025 Let’s be real: being a woman comes with a lot of hormonal ups and downs. Mood swings. Fatigue. Bloating. Brain fog. Anxiety. Sleep issues. And don’t even get me started on the perimenopause rollercoaster. Whether you’re in your 20s or late 40s (like me!), hormones influence everything —your energy, mood, digestion, skin, cycle, and emotional balance. But here’s something most women don’t hear enough: CBD can help. Not as a magic pill or miracle cure—but as a powerful tool that supports your body’s natural rhythms and helps bring balance when everything feels off. ๐Ÿ’› What Happens When Hormones Are Out of Whack? When estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, or thyroid hormones get thrown off, you may feel: Anxious or irritable Wired but tired Struggling with sleep or concentration Sluggish digestion or metabolism Cravings, mood dips, and PMS from another planet Sound familiar?
