๐ŸŒฟ How I Manage Bipolar and Anxiety with Holistic Support

Posted in The Wellness Den | May 29, 2025

Let’s get real for a moment.

Living with bipolar and anxiety isn’t a neatly packaged wellness story.

It’s messy. It’s layered. It’s exhausting at times.

But it’s also made me fiercely self-aware—and deeply committed to healing in a way that honors my whole self.

I’ve spent years learning how to support my mental health—not just with prescriptions or appointments, but with everyday habits, tools, and choices that help me stay grounded and well.

This isn’t about “fixing” myself. It’s about supporting my brain, body, and spirit with compassion.

✨ First: Let’s Drop the Shame

Mental illness doesn’t make you weak.

Taking meds doesn’t make you “less holistic.”

And needing support doesn’t mean you’re broken.

For me, bipolar and anxiety show up in different ways at different times—high energy followed by burnout, racing thoughts, mood swings, and deep overwhelm.

But what’s helped most is building a lifestyle that buffers those extremes with structure, self-awareness, and softness.

๐ŸŒฟ What Holistic Support Looks Like

For Me

Here’s what I do consistently—not perfectly—to help manage my bipolar and anxiety symptoms in a way that feels gentle, doable, and real:

๐ŸŒ… 1.

Protective Morning Routines

My mornings are sacred.

I don’t rush. I don’t scroll. I give myself space to check in before the world comes in.

  • CBD and lemon water

  • Journaling or quiet reflection

  • Gentle movement or light stretching

  • A high-protein breakfast to stabilize my blood sugar

Mornings set the tone for my entire mental state—so I treat them like medicine.

๐ŸŒฟ 2.

CBD as a Daily Anchor

CBD has been huge for me. It helps calm my nervous system without numbing me.

I use:

  • Green Compass Nano Jellies (for daily clarity + calm)

  • Full Spectrum Oil (for deeper support on high-stress days)

  • CBD Topicals when anxiety shows up as tension or body discomfort

CBD has helped me respond instead of react—especially when my anxiety spikes.

๐Ÿง  3.

Supplements + Gut Support

There’s a deep connection between the gut and brain.

I use:

  • Probiotics for gut health

  • Omega-3s for brain support

  • Magnesium to support sleep and regulate mood

  • Green Compass collagen and hair, skin & nails support for overall wellness (bonus: better hair + nails helps me feel more confident too)

๐Ÿ’ค 4.

Sleep is Non-Negotiable

Nothing destabilizes my mood faster than poor sleep. I do everything I can to protect it.

  • Wind-down CBD routine

  • Diffused essential oils

  • Low lighting and no screens before bed

  • Weighted blanket and white noise

It’s not always perfect, but I’ve learned to stop glorifying “late-night productivity” and start prioritizing real rest.

๐Ÿง˜‍♀️ 5.

Therapy + Self-Compassion Tools

I believe in therapy. Period.

But I also use tools between sessions:

  • Nervous system resets

  • Guided meditations

  • Trauma-informed affirmations

  • Self-talk that sounds more like a best friend and less like a critic

I give myself grace when my energy dips and honor the signals my body sends.

๐Ÿ’ฌ What I Want You to Know

You can live with bipolar and anxiety and live a full, beautiful, empowered life.

You can take meds and use herbs.

You can go to therapy and use oils, supplements, and CBD.

You can need help and be incredibly strong.

This is your journey. And you get to build it in a way that works for you.

If you’re navigating mental health struggles and want to learn more about how I support mine holistically, come connect with me at @waiting.4.sunshine.

I’ll keep sharing honestly—because this world needs more truth, more tenderness, and more women not hiding their healing.

With love + realness,

Heather

๐ŸŒฟ CBD and Hormones: What Every Woman Should Know

Posted in The Wellness Den | June 14, 2025 Let’s be real: being a woman comes with a lot of hormonal ups and downs. Mood swings. Fatigue. Bloating. Brain fog. Anxiety. Sleep issues. And don’t even get me started on the perimenopause rollercoaster. Whether you’re in your 20s or late 40s (like me!), hormones influence everything —your energy, mood, digestion, skin, cycle, and emotional balance. But here’s something most women don’t hear enough: CBD can help. Not as a magic pill or miracle cure—but as a powerful tool that supports your body’s natural rhythms and helps bring balance when everything feels off. ๐Ÿ’› What Happens When Hormones Are Out of Whack? When estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, or thyroid hormones get thrown off, you may feel: Anxious or irritable Wired but tired Struggling with sleep or concentration Sluggish digestion or metabolism Cravings, mood dips, and PMS from another planet Sound familiar?
