๐Ÿ’› Mom Life + Mental Health: Finding My Rhythm Again

Posted in The Wellness Den | May 17, 2025

There’s something no one really tells you when you become a mom:

You don’t just give birth to a baby.

You give birth to a whole new version of yourself.

And while it’s beautiful, it can also be incredibly overwhelming—especially when it comes to your mental health.

For a long time, I was in survival mode.

Waking up to crying. Rushing. Multitasking. Pouring from an empty cup.

And then wondering why I felt disconnected, anxious, and exhausted.

If you’ve been there, I see you. If you’re in it right now—I’m sending you a giant, gentle hug.

Because motherhood is a lot. And it’s okay to admit that.

๐ŸŒฟ I Lost My Rhythm… and That’s Okay

There was a time when I had a great flow going—morning routines, journaling, workouts, quiet coffee moments.

But slowly, between night wakings, school drop-offs, messes, and mental overload, that rhythm fell apart.

I stopped checking in with myself. I started skipping things that grounded me.

And I felt it.

The anxiety crept back in.

The brain fog.

The irritability and guilt.

It wasn’t that I didn’t love my child or my life—it’s that I wasn’t in it with myself anymore.

๐Ÿ•Š How I’m Reclaiming My Rhythm

No huge routines. No perfection. Just small, loving shifts that remind me I matter too.

Here’s what’s been helping me reconnect:

✨ 1.

Waking Up Before the House (Even Just 10 Minutes)

Just ten minutes of quiet before the chaos changes my whole day.

Sometimes I stretch, breathe, or sip warm lemon water. It’s not about productivity—it’s about peace.

✨ 2.

Midday Mental Check-Ins

I pause. I breathe. I ask: “How am I, really?”

Even if the answer is “tired” or “over it,” acknowledging it helps me come back to myself.

✨ 3.

CBD for Calm & Clarity

My daily Green Compass CBD has been a game-changer.

It helps regulate my stress response and gives me space to respond instead of react.

(Moms, you know the power of a pause.)

✨ 4.

Movement Without Pressure

Walks with the dogs. Stretching in the kitchen. Dance breaks with my kiddo.

I stopped chasing intense workouts and started honoring joyful movement.

✨ 5.

Letting the Mess Be… Sometimes

Not every dish needs to be done right away.

Not every moment needs to be optimized.

Sometimes the healthiest thing is to sit down, breathe, and let it be.

๐Ÿ’ฌ To the Moms Who Are Still Searching for Their Rhythm…

You are not failing.

You’re evolving.

And sometimes, rhythm doesn’t come from getting everything “right”—it comes from remembering who you are underneath it all.

You are allowed to need time.

You are allowed to ask for support.

You are allowed to feel overwhelmed and grateful at the same time.

Motherhood is messy and miraculous—and through it all, you’re still you.

If you’re in the process of finding your rhythm again too, I’d love to connect.

Come hang out with me on Instagram at @waiting.4.sunshine where I share real-life motherhood, wellness, hair healing, pet care, and calm mindset support.

We’re in this together—one deep breath at a time. ๐Ÿ’›

With grace + gentleness,

Heather

๐ŸŒฟ CBD and Hormones: What Every Woman Should Know

Posted in The Wellness Den | June 14, 2025 Let’s be real: being a woman comes with a lot of hormonal ups and downs. Mood swings. Fatigue. Bloating. Brain fog. Anxiety. Sleep issues. And don’t even get me started on the perimenopause rollercoaster. Whether you’re in your 20s or late 40s (like me!), hormones influence everything —your energy, mood, digestion, skin, cycle, and emotional balance. But here’s something most women don’t hear enough: CBD can help. Not as a magic pill or miracle cure—but as a powerful tool that supports your body’s natural rhythms and helps bring balance when everything feels off. ๐Ÿ’› What Happens When Hormones Are Out of Whack? When estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, or thyroid hormones get thrown off, you may feel: Anxious or irritable Wired but tired Struggling with sleep or concentration Sluggish digestion or metabolism Cravings, mood dips, and PMS from another planet Sound familiar?
