๐Ÿงผ Non-Toxic Swaps for a Cleaner Home & Life

Once I started paying attention to what I was putting in my body (hello CBD, collagen, and clean nutrition), I started thinking more about what I was putting on my body and using around my family and pets too.

Turns out? A lot of “everyday” products are full of hidden chemicals, artificial fragrances, and toxins that can mess with everything from our hormones to our moods to our immune systems.

But here’s the good news: you don’t have to overhaul everything overnight. You can make one small swap at a time—and those little changes add up in a big way.

Today, I’m sharing a few of my favorite non-toxic swaps to help you create a cleaner, calmer, more supportive environment for you, your family, and your pets.

๐Ÿงฝ 1. Ditch the Fragrance Bombs

Swap this: Candles, plug-ins, and sprays

For this: Essential oil diffusers, soy/beeswax candles, or just fresh air + open windows

Synthetic fragrances are one of the biggest hidden disruptors of our endocrine system—and can trigger allergies, migraines, and even anxiety.

๐Ÿงด 2. Rework Your Cleaning Products

Swap this: Conventional all-purpose sprays, bleach wipes

For this: Branch Basics, Thieves Cleaner, or homemade vinegar + essential oil mixes

These work just as well (or better!) without coating your home in chemicals that linger on surfaces and in the air your pets breathe.

๐Ÿถ 3. Pet-Safe Grooming + Laundry

Swap this: Strong-scented detergents or pet shampoos

For this: Fragrance-free or natural laundry detergent (Molly’s Suds is a fave!) + gentle, non-toxic pet shampoos

Remember—your pets are walking barefoot on your floors and licking their fur. If they’re exposed to toxins through contact or scent, it affects their health too.

๐Ÿฝ 4. Rethink Your Cookware + Food Storage

Swap this: Teflon pans, plastic containers

For this: Cast iron, stainless steel, glass, or silicone alternatives

I’m slowly replacing things like plastic lids, cooking utensils, and storage with safer options that won’t leach chemicals—especially when heated.

๐ŸŒฟ 5. Calm from the Inside Out

Swap this: Stressy routines + synthetic solutions

For this: Natural tools like CBD, hydration, movement, and mindfulness

Because wellness isn’t just about the physical stuff. It’s about creating a space that feels safe, clear, and aligned with how you want to feel in your body and your life.

๐Ÿ’› Start Where You Are

You don’t need to do it all today. But you can start with one thing.

➡️ Choose one area of your home to swap out this week

➡️ Be kind to yourself in the process

➡️ And know that every little change is helping support your body, your pets, and your peace of mind

Clean doesn’t have to mean complicated.

Let it mean conscious. Let it mean calm. Let it mean you’re doing your best.

Is there an artist whose early demise surprised and saddened you?   Not an artist but Heath Ledger's death really shocked me and took me by surprise.  He is one of my all time favorite actors. 5) Billie was known as "Lady Day." Do you have a cool nickname? (If not, feel free to give yourself one right now.)   No cool nicknames, as a kid I was "Woodie or Fruitcake".....don't ask LOL 6) When was the last time you had the blues?   ...

Who Are you?

Sunday stealing  Who Are you? Part 7 – It is Over!  Part 7: Self Image 84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you:   I wake up at 6:00am, take a shower, get ready for the day, then I go downstairs and feed the critters, and make breakfast for hubby and I.  We usually leave the house by about 7:30ish and I drop my husband off at work.  Then I work (I'm a Pet Groomer) until about 3:30 or 4:00ish then I leave for home and go get my hubby from work.  Then I come home and make dinner, feed the critters, work on cleaning the house a little and we usually head to bed about 8:30ish or 9:00. 85. What is your greatest strength as a person?   I am a very compassionate and have a big heart 86. What is your greatest weakness?   Interrupting people when they are talking 87. Are you going to run for President in 2016?   Nope, I don't care about politics all that much 88. Are you generally self-contained? No, I do like to talk, except t...

๐ŸŒฟ CBD and Hormones: What Every Woman Should Know

Posted in The Wellness Den | June 14, 2025 Let’s be real: being a woman comes with a lot of hormonal ups and downs. Mood swings. Fatigue. Bloating. Brain fog. Anxiety. Sleep issues. And don’t even get me started on the perimenopause rollercoaster. Whether you’re in your 20s or late 40s (like me!), hormones influence everything —your energy, mood, digestion, skin, cycle, and emotional balance. But here’s something most women don’t hear enough: CBD can help. Not as a magic pill or miracle cure—but as a powerful tool that supports your body’s natural rhythms and helps bring balance when everything feels off. ๐Ÿ’› What Happens When Hormones Are Out of Whack? When estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, or thyroid hormones get thrown off, you may feel: Anxious or irritable Wired but tired Struggling with sleep or concentration Sluggish digestion or metabolism Cravings, mood dips, and PMS from another planet Sound familiar? Now enter: your Endocannabino...
